Chapelle Saint Quenin
The chapel of the name of Saint Quenin, bishop of Vaison in the sixth century, is a Romanesque building. Built on the edge of a Roman necropolis and on a cemetery dating from the 5th or 6th century, it is classified as a historic monument in 1840.
One of the most beautiful examples of Provencal Romanesque art, inspired by ancient architectural models, it presents a curious triangular apse.
Dedicated to the patron saint of the city, it was built in the second half of the 12th century on a site occupied during the Roman period by a necropolis.
Note the fineness of the decor of the columns and pilasters, surmounted by magnificent capitals with acanthus leaves which support an impressive entablature in the antique with frieze under cornice.
