Le Suquet
Perched up on high, atop the Mont-Chevalier hill, Le Suquet is the oldest district of Cannes. It offers exceptional views over the entire city, the bay and the Lérins Islands, making a picturesque stroll around this ancient Provence town an absolute must for all visitors to Cannes!
In the Middle Ages, the monks of the Saint-Honorat Abbey built a citadel around which a fortified village formed. These days the remains of this castle house the Castre Museum.
Far removed from the hustle and bustle of the Croisette promenade, the fully-pedestrianised Suquet district offers visitors a series of tight, winding medieval passages to explore by foot.
In particular, don't miss out on the Rue Saint-Antoine, with its plentiful boutiques and restaurants, or the Forville marketplace, where you can immerse yourself in the culture of the Provence region.
