Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse
Ever since its construction towards the end of the 1960s, Les Halles de Lyon market has been the spiritual home of gastronomy in Lyon. Furthermore, since 2006, it has borne the name of Paul Bocuse, France’s most internationally renowned chef.
Bakeries, chocolatiers, caterers, butchers, charcutiers, fishmongers… Nearly 60 merchants are spread out along three huge aisles at the Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse market, invariably suppliers of produce to the city’s finest restaurants.
Not to be missed at Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse:
- The meats of Trolliet, an award-winning butchery
- Pierre Bastin’s poultry, complete with striking feathered collars
- Sibilia, a local charcutier proudly serving Lyon’s finest sausage in brioche!
- The Giraudet quenelles, an emblem of the city’s cuisine since 1910
- Cellerier, offering a selection of the finest cheeses from France and overseas
- The legendary cheeses of La Mère Richard – none more so than their celebrated Saint-Marcelin –, whose products can be also found at OKKO’s Lyon Pont Lafayette hotel.
- Maison Jocteur, a baker from Ile Barbe specialising in delicious pink praline tarts
- Sève, master craftsmen of wonderful chocolates and pastries
Try as you might, you’ll be sure to find all these temptations impossible to resist… it is quite simply the must-visit destination for all food lovers passing through Lyon!
