Built in the middle of the 12th century, St John's Hospital is one of the oldest hospital buildings in Europe. The medieval wards and the church and chapel within the hospital house an impressive collection of archives, works of art, medical instruments and seven masterpieces by Hans Memling, including the famous shrine of St Ursula. Don't miss a visit to the hospital pharmacy and the Diksmuide granary, which has one of the oldest and most monumental oak frames in Europe.
