The castle got its actual shape in the 18th century, when Louis XIV added some classicist features to the marlstone elements of the 15th and 16th century. Viscount Vilain XIIII laid out an English country park in the 19th century, well-kept and located between the castle and the Meuse, with quite a tale. from his trips abroad.
