Le Bateau Lavoir
The Bateau Lavoir is an open-air restaurant dreamt up by François Delarozière for the last Floralies Internationales flower festival in Nantes in 2009.
Only a few minutes’ walk from the centre of town, the establishment follows the classic tradition of the French guinguette, with musical events, a beautiful dance floor and a wooden terrace on the waterfront. Its relaxing, pastoral setting is the perfect place to escape the commotion of the city. Whether it be to share a nice lunch on the terrace, to fit in a drink while on a walk, or for an evening aperitif on the waterfront… this is an establishment that lends itself to any occasion.
After a trip to the Talensac market, the Bateau Lavoir invites you onto its terrace to sample the delicious food that you’ve just unearthed on the stalls of the local producers. The staff are happy to provide you with knives, plates and butter, as well as suggesting a drink to accompany your feast!
The Bateau Lavoir stages a varied programme of events with weekend concerts, French accordion music on Sunday afternoons and a whole lot more besides (evening aperitifs, shows, theatre performances…).
