Les Rigolettes nantaises
Out of all this region’s treasures, the Rigolettes Nantaises is a true gastronomic masterpiece from the old Duchy of Brittany! The rigolette, not to be confused with the famous berlingot from the same city, was first created in 1902 by Charles Bohu. “Rigolette” was in fact the name of his cat, named after the eponymous character in Verdi’s famous opera.
The rigolette nantaise is a delicious confectionary, made up a soft fruity centre encased by a sugar shell. It comes in five flavours: lemon, cherry, strawberry, mandarin and pineapple.
You can discover these delicious treats in the Les Rigolettes Nantaises boutique at 18 rue de Verdun, only two minutes from the OKKO Nantes Château Hotel. If you’re in a rush, they are also available in the hotel’s own boutique here.
