Palais Rohan
Built between 1771 and 1784 on the initiative of the Archbishop of Bordeaux, Ferdinand Maximilien Mériadec de Rohan.
In turn, Hôtel de l'Archevêché, Hôtel de Département, seat of the Revolutionary Court, Hôtel de la Préfecture, Imperial Palace then Royal Castle, the Rohan Palace became Town Hall in 1835.
Behind its Louis XVI-style facade is one of the most beautiful staircases in France, considered one of the masterpieces of stone carving. You will also pass through the remarkable salons of the Palais Rohan, and the town hall, fitted out in 1889 and characteristic of the architecture under the Third Republic.
